The past few weeks my morning Bible reading has been about Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. The day it discussed Christ’s crucifixion it mentioned that during that time possibly 500 Jews a day were crucified, a horrible, excruciating way to die. Average people who had believed and decided to follow the Lamb of God.
Then, the above verse came to my mind, actually, the song that goes with this verse. Galatians 2:20 which says, “I am crucified with Christ, never the less I live, yet not I but Christ liveth in me…”
Wow! I stopped right there. I asked myself, have I put my life to death for Him? In Luke 9 it says “we lose our life.” Have I put to death those things that take Him away from me? Have I put to death selfishness, fear, unforgiveness, or faithlessness?
This thought humbled me and it should cause us to remember everything Christ went through to cleanse me from all our unrighteousness. He gave up everything on this Earth for you and me. My prayer is to live the crucified life and seek Him with my whole heart.
