I recently had the joy of sitting down with Laurel Nicholson for The Death and Resurrection Podcast — and what a conversation it was!
Laurel offers the first and only Christian End-of-Life Doula Training Program, and her heart for walking alongside people in life’s most tender moments is truly beautiful. If you’d like to connect with her, you can find her on Facebook and Instagram.
In this clip, we talked about something close to my heart, God’s presence throughout every season of our lives. Because here’s what I know to be true: He doesn’t just show up for the mountain-top moments. He’s there in the valleys, in the waiting, and in the quiet ordinary days in between.
We discussed my new Bible study, The Song of Our Heart, rooted in Psalm 71, a psalm that reminds us God is our refuge, our hope, and worthy of our praise from our youngest days to our very last breath. And that’s not just a nice thought. That’s a promise we can build our lives on.
We also talked about one of my favorite topics, passing that faith on to the next generation. Because the greatest gift we can leave behind isn’t found in a will. It’s found in the stories we tell, the truth we live, and the legacy of faith we plant in the hearts of those who come after us.
Building a legacy of faith — that’s what it’s all about.
Want to hear the full podcast? Laurel and I covered even more ground in our longer conversation — including the remarkable way music reaches people living with Alzheimer’s, and how God meets us in every season, even the ones we never saw coming.
