Who Am I?

The following quote showed up on my Facebook feed the other day; “Don’t go twenty years letting one negative comment hold you back. You are not who people say you are, you are who God says you are.”

I hate to admit this, but I have. I have let the words of others (can’t even remember who) about my looks cause me to be insecure for years. Not until many years later did I realize that this is one of the tricks of the enemy. Satan seeks to impair us in any way he can. He wants to take our eyes off of the things that matter and especially make us forget who we are.

Remind yourself today as David did, “For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.” Psalm 139:13-16
