This past week I experienced a myriad of emotions. It will be a Thanksgiving I will not forget.
We laid our sweet brother-in-law to rest. I watched all of my grandchildren playing, hugging, and just visiting. I saw family members I didn’t expect to see and some that I hadn’t seen in a while. We ate together, prayed together, and cried.
It reminded me of the verses in Job after he has lost everything. It says in Job 1:20-21, “At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb and naked I will depart. the Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
This reading came to mind as I thought of what we lost and what we had. May we give praise to God in all situations!
