“My God and I go in the field together;
We walk and talk as good friends should and do;
We clasp our hands, our voices ring with laughter;
My God and I walk through the meadow’s hue.”
This is the chorus to the hymn “My God and I.” We would sing this at church camp as we sat outside for our evening devotion. How close God felt as we saw the sun setting, heard the crickets and listened to the silence of the woods.
The question of “Where is God?” would not come up if we took the time to be in his presence. Why do we put our prayers, Bible study, quiet time, devotions on the back burner? To find God, take the time to make Him a priority. Spend some alone time with Him. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 19:13 NIV)
