Global Warming

Looking out our window the past few days, it is really hard to wrap our heads around the idea of Global warming. I’m not here to argue the point that our atmosphere doesn’t have some changes. We’ve been discussing this point for at least 40 something years. It was a big topic of conversation even in my college days. I am a person who does believe in taking care of the Earth. It is a beautiful place that should not be taken for granted. Everyone should do their part in conserving our world. But, …You knew it was coming.

You might not want to hear this next part. But, this Earth will one day pass away. This beautiful planet will be no more. How do I know? God says it. Matthew 24 reveals to us that God will come back. We won’t know the day or the hour. It will be like in the time of Noah. Everyone will be about doing their own thing. 2 Peter 3 says that …”the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.”

So, should I be more concerned with whether or not the Earth is being taken care of or are people’s souls? How much money do we put into the teaching of the Bible? Do we teach our children what they need to know to be saved? Do we help missionaries go into the whole world? Are we reaching out into our communities? I am preaching, I know. But, I’m talking to myself as well. I pray today that more of us take a stand. That we reach out and show others that their souls are important. We reach out and tell them that there is life beyond this one. That there is hope!
