I admit I get distracted. I start a project and think about something else I need to do. Sad but true, I can walk into a room and in seconds forget why I’m there or what I’m looking for! Can you relate??
How easy it is for us to get distracted. We hear this a lot especially in relation to driving. In one second someone’s life can end because of distraction.
Satan is the king manipulator of this weapon. A good example of this is found when Jesus goes into the wilderness to get closer to his Father. He spends 40 days in fasting and prayer and we know who shows up. It seems it happens in our life too. We feel like we are growing in our faith. Our prayer life is strong and then – WHAM! Something distracts us – jobs, children, neighbors, church members, money – life!
Listen, last night I felt convicted of something. I felt the Spirit say, “The world is dying because they don’t know the Savior. He is the one who can free them from their pain and forgive their sin. You are being distracted by things that really don’t matter. Take a stand for what does and trust in God.”
I pray, by the Spirit that lives in me, to fight for those who are weak. The ones who can’t fight. I commit myself to teach others about Jesus, the one and only way. May God give us all eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts to understand so we can be healed. (Matthew 13:15)
