Several years ago my mother started a tradition. Whenever she had company over to eat she would have them sign her tablecloth. Then she would go back later and embroider the name and date. It’s fun now to go back and look over the different guests she has entertained over the years.

What has happened to hospitality? I think we have reinvented it. But, how many times to we invite people into our homes to eat, converse and just enjoy the company?

I know I don’t do what I need to do so, I am not throwing stones. But, maybe our lives wouldn’t be so isolated or lonely if we allowed others into our lives. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, maybe just a cup of coffee. Practice hospitality – who knows, you might be entertaining an angel!!
