One Nation Under God

I know what I am about to say is not new. But, it is something that bothers me and I can’t be quiet. First of all, I pray that we will honor our president and the position he holds. “Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is not authority except that which God has established.” Romans 13:1 (NIV)  Then, we need to pray for our government. “I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone- for kings and all those in authority…” 2 Timothy 2:1-2a (NIV)

Finally, as Christians, we need to remember that “we” cannot make America great again. God is the only one that has that power. Our greatness is not based on what we do but who we serve!! It would do us well if we as a nation would heed 2 Chronicle 7:14, ” if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
