Rootedness – I didn’t know this was a word. In fact, as I type there is a red line under it. I looked it up online and it was a word in the Free dictionary. The definition reads, “the quality or state of having roots, especially of being firmly established, settled or entrenched.”
I like that. I like the sound of that. One of the things my grandmother wanted me to memorize when I was young was Psalms 1. I now know why. She wanted me to know where I need to be planted. Where I needed to be firmly planted and entrenched.
Psalms 1:1-3 in the NIV reads, “Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.”
