A Day without Power

Yesterday, because of the storms we were without electricity for 12 hours. You soon realize how dependent you are without it. I couldn’t have my coffee, watch the morning news, dry my hair, cook, see to put my make-up on (HELP!!), wash, and on and on…

My life was out of whack. My routine was shot. At times it was a little dangerous as I tried to get ready. I was a little down as evening came thinking…humm I might have to actually talk to my husband! (just kidding)

This got me to thinking of the power we have inside of us as Christians. We are promised that the Holy Spirit lives in us when we give our lives to Christ. (Acts 2:38) We are told in 1 John that when we believe in the name of God’s son and love each other that Christ lives in us.  In 1 John it goes on to say in 4:4 “You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.”

I would much rather have this power! A day without this power makes life very bleak. If your life seems out of whack. If you can’t make sense of things. If life seems dangerous or you feel alone just stop! Look to the one  who will guide you and fill you with his power.
