A moment
Can be “I love you”
Or, get out of my life.
A moment
Can be your last breath
or the very first.
A moment
Can turn your life upside down
or be the beginning of a whole new life.
A moment
Can be a simple smile
cutting words that you never forget.
A moment
Can be a whole life
or only last a second.
Each moment is all we have.
Today’s prompt is from the Five-Minute Friday writing group.

we have choices to make every moment, don’t we? Making each moment count. Visiting from FMF#16

Yeah, the moment’s all we’ve got,
but to the past it is a door.
Life’s got meaning and a plot,
and moments build on what’s before.
Not to say they ain’t life-changing,
but they still need some support
if they’re bent on re-arranging;
elstwise they will come up short
like band-aid on a laceration,
like Bondo on a smashed fender.
We have to put determination
forestalling return to the sender,
and that can really only be
the function of consistency.

I very much liked your poem and how you expressed yourself. Nicely done. (I had said this all last night but I couldn’t get my comment to go through). FMF15
