…Making the Most of every Opportunity

The passing of friends and loved ones is so difficult. It’s hard to wrap our heads around the fact we won’t see them again in this life. But, as Christ followers we do have hope beyond this life. We get to spend eternity in the presence of our Lord and King!

The beautiful lady above is Carmelita Jean. If you have lived here for any amount of time, you probably have heard her name. There are people who come into our lives that make a lasting impact. Carmelita is one of those.

Here are some things I learned from her;

*Make the most of every opportunity. This is from Ephesians 5:15-16 a, where we are told to make good use of the time you have. She did. Her mind was constantly going. It might be about something to do in the community, cooking, or Bible study.

*Share what you have. Whether you’re given a little or a lot, it’s really not ours.

*Be an encourager. Don’t complain all the time. Find ways to encourage others. Lift others up. Give others the confidence they need.

*Find joy. She loved to laugh and share that laughter with others.

*Study the word of God. Don’t just read it but study it and bring others with you on this journey of life.

Thank you Carmelita for making the most of your opportunities and sharing them with others.
