What will your “Song” be this year?

Happy New Year, dear friend!

As we step into a fresh year, many of us are thinking about resolutions, goals, and what we want to be different. But let me ask you a deeper question:

What will be the song of your heart this year?

Not the playlist on your phone—I mean the thing that sustains you. The anchor you return to when life gets hard. The melody that keeps playing even when circumstances don’t sound like you expected.

For me, and I hope for you, the answer is simple: God.

David understood this. In Psalm 71, he prayed that even in old age, even when life was difficult, God would remain his song. His refuge. His hope. His praise.

And here’s the beautiful truth: God doesn’t just want to be part of our lives. He wants to be our song.

This year, I want to invite you on a journey to make that real—not just a nice idea, but something you actually experience day by day.

I’m thrilled to announce that my new Bible study, The Song of Our Heart, is coming soon!

This five-week study walks through Psalm 71 and explores what it means to make God your song through every season of life:

  • God as our Refuge when we’re overwhelmed.
  • God as our Hope when circumstances look bleak.
  • God as our Praise even when we don’t feel like singing.
  • Declaring His power to the next generation.
  • Living as women whose song never ends.

Whether you’re in a season of joy or grief, this study will help you discover that God isn’t just with you—He IS your song.

I can’t wait to share it with you. Stay tuned for the release date (coming very soon!).

In the meantime, let me ask:

What do you need God to be for you this year?
Your refuge? Your hope? Your praise?

Whatever you’re facing, He’s ready to be your song.

Let’s make this a year where we don’t just survive—we sing.

Making God the song of our hearts,
Kathy

P.S. If you want to start preparing your heart now, spend some time reading Psalm 71 this week. Ask God to show you what it means for Him to be your song. I’d love to hear what He reveals to you—just hit reply and let me know.
