Today’s topic is for Five Minute Writing Group.

I know it’s not good to generalize but, it seems that men don’t really care about the details of certain events. It is true in this video that Jeff got the basic facts. But, what makes us always want more? We want the specifics! That means all the details that are associated with the one simple fact!

So here’s the thing about specifics. There are times we need to know the specifics. If I’m at the doctor and having an issue, I need to be specific with him. If I’m being interviewed for an accident I was involved in, I need to be as specific as possible on what happened.

Then there are other times it’s not meant to know everything. Example above, the important thing was Tom needed to be prayed for. If more details are needed, go to the source. There are certain that things happen in our lives that not everyone needs to know the specifics. The people involved make that choice.

We all will need prayer in our lives. When we feel we can trust others, ask them to pray for specific things. I know I have and it felt so good knowing that someone else was lifting my burdens up to God. But, if someone isn’t quite ready to share don’t force it. Just let them know you care and that you will be praying for them.
