Nothing

This is the prompt from The Five-Minute Friday Writing Group.

We moved into our new home a year ago. So many things I liked about it. The one thing that was a little disappointing was there was no landscaping around the back of the house! Nada! Nothing! I love flowers so I knew I had to get busy.

I started with nothing. I had planted lots of things at the old house. But, it’s just too much to try and move all of that. Last summer I started slow. We were blessed by Sarah Dalp with beautiful daylilies and hostas. I was so excited to see they had come back!

But, there were no beds. So with a little bit of sweat I created beds all along the back of the house. I filled them with roses, flowers, and mulch! Needless to say I was filled with joy. It took work. I had to buy some things. But I’m happy with the end product.

As I was working on this project, my heart remembered that our Heavenly Father took nothing and made something! The whole Earth and all of creation! I would not be able to have this bit of joy had He not created the things I used for it. He is an AWESOME God. There is no one like HIm. Nothing bothers Him.
