blog-headerHello, my name is Kathy Dye, aka KitKat to my precious grandchildren. I have been married to my husband, Sid, for the past 46 years. We currently live in Salem, Indiana. I retired from teaching this past year.

I have always had a passion for teaching. I loved my job and am thankful for the opportunity to teach children. But, my greatest love and passion is teaching God’s word. I have taught children’s Bible classes since I was in college. At several places where we have lived I have taught women’s classes and done ladies’ days.

A couple of my dear friends and myself, recently attended a women’s conference. I love being fed. One of them commented on how most of the speakers were the younger women. They were very good and thankful that they have been encouraged to follow their gifts and talents. But, it got me to thinking…why as older women to we bow out or hand over our torch when God still gives us the strength and health to work?

Not long after this, I was in another bible study where Psalm 71 was used as our topic. Psalm 71 is not one of the main psalms that I had put in my top ten. But, now it is my favorite! It is a prayer for God’s help in old age.

“Since my youth O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and Gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come.” Psalm 71: 18 NIV.

I want to share what God has done and is doing in my life.
